Healthy Habitats

In Jonestown, the only two parks are Shot Tower Park and McKim Park.

Shot Tower Park is the hangout for the homeless.

McKim Park is devoid of typical park characteristics such as flowers and kept grass, and the park only contains a run-down playground and barely passable basketball courts.

The nicely kept homes on Baltimore St. face McKim Park.

Here is a 360 view of McKim Park from the homes on Baltimore Street.

Improving McKim Park would not only give the neighborhood children a place to play, but it would also improve the optics and landscape of Jonestown.

An employee from a local business commented that "kids had no place to go" and essentially "just roamed the streets."

Jonestown needs a true green space.

Areas highlighted in yellow depict land values greater than property values.

According to the data, opportunities are in abundance and ripe for new business ventures.
